What to bring

Pack light. Pack right.

  • Your sticks + mallets — don't own them yet? Email us for loaners.
  • Athletic clothes you can move in + clean, non-marking indoor shoes.
  • The packet music, prepared — download it from your auditionee portal.
  • Water + a snack (you will be on the floor for hours).
  • A pencil — you will get notes, and we coach the audition itself.
  • An open mind — show up rested, early, and willing to be coached.

International auditionees

Auditioning from abroad.

  1. 01

    Submit a video audition

Outside the U.S.? You audition by video from your free auditionee portal — no need to travel for the first round.

  2. 02

    Invited to callback camp

A strong video earns an invitation to our callback camp here in Oklahoma, where we make final ensemble decisions in person.

Heads-up before you book travel: getting to Oklahoma — flights, visas, lodging — is a real expense, so we only invite international auditionees to callback camp when we believe you have a strong shot at the ensemble. Start your visa process early, and email the staff with questions.

After auditions

Season cadence + cost.

Member fees

$2,400 / season

That was the 2025-26 rate -- expect a modest increase for 2027. Last year that broke down as $1,000 down at contract, then four monthly payments. Need-based scholarships and fundraising are real -- ask if you need them.

Rehearsals

Weekends + Friday nights

Friday nights 7-11pm, Saturdays 10am-10pm, Sundays 10am-5pm, with meal breaks. Cadence shifts around travel + competition weeks.

Travel

Regionals + WGI

Regional competitions through the spring, plus WGI World Championships in Dayton. The 2027 slate posts once the schedule is locked.

What you get

Instruction + gear

A full season of coaching from an experienced staff, season gear (jersey, footwear, dogtags), and a network of 500+ alumni.

What we ask

Attendance + hard work

Attendance, attention, and hard work. We compete at World Class because we work for it.

Eligibility

22 or under on April 1

Per WGI independent-class rules, you're eligible for the 2027 season if you're not over 22 on April 1, 2027 (proof of age required). High-schoolers, college performers, and DCI alumni all welcome.

What we ask

Attendance. Attention. Hard work.

We are not a casual ensemble. We compete at World Class because we work for it. If that excites you more than it scares you, we want to meet you.

Audition questions, answered.

When are auditions?

Audition camp runs in the fall. Exact dates post here and on @resistanceind once the 2027 schedule is locked -- register for your free auditionee account to be first to know.

Do I need DCI experience?

No. We welcome high school performers, college performers, and DCI alumni. Eligibility follows WGI independent-class rules: you can march the 2027 season as long as you're not over 22 on April 1, 2027.

Can I audition if I already march DCI?

Yes -- plenty of members do. Communicate with both staffs early about call-back and rehearsal conflicts; with planning, the two seasons are navigable.

I play multiple instruments. Which section should I audition for?

Pick a primary section (Visual, Front Ensemble, or Battery) when you register. If you are open to a cross-section placement, flag it in the notes and we will work with you during the audition.

How much does it cost to audition?

One $60 audition fee covers your entire audition experience -- every camp, and a video submission if you need one. It is one flat fee, not per-camp. You pay it when you register through your free auditionee portal.

What are member fees if I make the ensemble? Are there scholarships?

Last season's fees were $2,400 -- $1,000 at contract plus four monthly payments -- and we expect a modest increase for 2027. We have need-based scholarships and active fundraising. Cost should not be the reason you do not audition -- reach out.

What if I cannot make the audition weekend?

Video auditions are reserved for performers who genuinely cannot attend in person due to distance or schedule conflicts. If that is you, email auditions@resistanceindoor.org and we will set up a video audition or a follow-up session -- your $60 audition fee covers it.

Can I audition from outside the U.S.?

Yes. International auditionees audition by video through the auditionee portal -- your $60 audition fee covers the video round. If your video is strong, we invite you to our callback camp in Oklahoma for final decisions. Because that travel is a significant expense, staff only extend callback-camp invitations to international auditionees we believe have a strong chance of making the ensemble -- so start your visa process early and email us with questions.
