Front Ensemble Manager

Shelby Huffman is a multifaceted individual with a strong foundation in both technology and the performing arts. Residing in Oklahoma City, he seamlessly blends his career as an XR Developer at Boeing with his deep-rooted passion for music, both as an educator and a performer.

Having graduated from the University of Oklahoma, Shelby boasts a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. Always eager to learn, he is currently furthering his education at the Georgia Institute of Technology, working towards a Master's in Computer Science. Here, he is specializing in Robotics and Computational Perception, showing his inclination towards cutting-edge technology. Additionally, Shelby possesses notable expertise in Audio Electronics, a testament to his diverse skill set.

However, Shelby’s love for music remains a cornerstone of his identity. His musical journey began in Oklahoma, where he played tenors at Choctaw High School, progressed to playing the snare for the University of Oklahoma Drumline, and culminated in his involvement with Resistance from 2014-2016. Not one to limit his horizons, Shelby's summers saw him marching with renowned groups: The Mandarins in 2016, The Crossmen in 2017 and 2018, and finally aging out with The Cavaliers in 2019. The winter months were just as musically charged, with Shelby marching with Gateway in 2017 and Monarch Independent in 2019.

As an educator, Shelby has taken on various roles that reflect his expertise and passion. Since 2016, he has been the Front Ensemble Director for Southmoore High School, ensuring the growth and success of the musical group. He also wears the hat of a Front Ensemble Tech for Zephryus and The Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. Expanding his responsibilities further, Shelby is now the Front Ensemble Director for Oklahoma Baptist University, where he continues to shape the next generation of musicians.
