Joel Montes will continue with Resistance Indoor Percussion as a front ensemble consultant for the 2026 season. Montes is an assistant band director for USD 313 Buhler Bands as well as an active musician in the Wichita, Kansas area. Joel’s teaching experience includes USD 312 Haven Bands, USD 265 Goddard Bands, Railmen Indoor Percussion, Railmen Winter Winds, Resistance Indoor Percussion, the Battalion Drum and Bugle Corps, the Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps and the Academy Drum and Bugle Corps. Montes was a member of the 2012 and 2013 Troopers front ensemble. When he is not teaching or playing, Joel enjoys spending time with his wife Gabi and their dog Billie!
