Dawson Leffingwell

Assistant Director

Dawson Leffingwell is an award-winning percussion educator, arranger, and clinician based in Oklahoma. He currently serves as Associate Band Director and Field Percussion Coordinator at Muskogee Public Schools. Under his direction, the Muskogee Indoor Percussion ensemble earned the title of 2024 Winter Guard and Percussion of Oklahoma Scholastic Marching B Class Champions and a 2025 Bronze medal in the Scholastic Marching A Class.

Dawson is entering his second year on staff with Resistance Indoor Percussion, where he previously performed as a member. He also performed with Compass Drum and Bugle Corps and recently completed a season on staff with the Sky Ryders Drum & Bugle Corps, where he was honored as Staff Member of the Year. His work extends to the national level through his involvement with Oklahoma American Legion Boys State, where he has been recognized with both the John Ruth Award and the Glenn Reeder Award for outstanding service.

Dawson is a member of the Vic Firth Education Team and remains active as a clinician and arranger throughout the region.
