Alex Braud

Front Ensemble Technician

Alex Braud (b. 1993) is a freelance percussionist, educator, and designer based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and is excited to be joining the staff at Resistance Indoor Percussion! He is a member of the front ensemble staff for Arsenal Drum and Bugle Corps and the former Front Ensemble Coordinator for the Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps. He previously taught indoor with Sun City Independent, based in El Paso, TX. He also held various administrative and educational roles with Compass Drum and Bugle Corps and the Oregon Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps.

As a performer in the marching arts, Alex was a member of Gateway Indoor (2014) and the Oregon Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps (2014), and performed as a part of the Kansas City Chiefs Rumble Drumline (2013-2019). He has remained an active performer throughout the country with various orchestras, wind ensembles, and percussion ensembles, and has shared the stage with the likes of Doug Perkins, Ji Hye Jung, and Sō Percussion. He holds a Master of Music degree from Lamar University (2022), and bachelor’s degrees in both Percussion Performance and Music Education from the University of Central Missouri (2018).

A former middle school/high school band director and percussion specialist, his students have gone on to perform with finalist drum and bugle corps, indoor percussion ensembles, and study music at nationally recognized college and university programs.

Alex is a member of the Percussive Arts Society, the Texas Music Educators Association, and is a proud endorser of Salyers Percussion, Sabian Cymbals, and Beetle Percussion.
